Start the Shingrix conversation and shield your patients from shingles today
The shingles vaccine Shingrix replaced Zostavax on the National Immunisation Program (NIP) in November 2023. Primary health workers can play a key role in protecting people from shingles. Your recommendations and advice can inform a patient's decision about vaccination.
A free, 2-dose course of Shingrix is available for eligible people most at risk of complications from shingles. These people are:
- First Nations people aged 50 and over
- people aged 65 and over
- immunocompromised people aged 18 and over with certain medical conditions.
