What is the National Immunisation Program Vaccinations in Pharmacy (NIPVIP) Program?

The National Immunisation Program Vaccinations in Pharmacy (NIPVIP) Program allows eligible patients to receive free National Immunisation Program (NIP) vaccines at community pharmacies, residential aged care and disability homes.

Under the NIPVIP Program, participating pharmacies will receive a payment of $18.85 for each National Immunisation Program (NIP) vaccine administered.

To receive the payment, patients must be aged 5 years and above, and the vaccines must be administered in:

  • pharmacy settings, or
  • residential aged care and disability homes.

The NIPVIP Program aims to strengthen community immunity against vaccine-preventable diseases by improving access and removing cost barriers for patients.

Updates to the NIPVIP Program

As of Monday 29 April 2024, NIP vaccinations can now be administered off-site in residential aged care and disability homes under the NIPVIP Program.

Pharmacies can claim a payment for the off-site administration of National Immunisation Program (NIP) vaccinations.

How to can your pharmacy participate in the NIPVIP Program?

To participate in the NIPVIP Program, registration and claiming can be done through the Pharmacy Programs Administrator (PPA) Portal.
