Raising Healthy Minds app: A free tool to support parents to enhance the mental health of their children

GPs and other primary care professionals play a significant role in shaping health and wellbeing outcomes. The Raising Healthy Minds app is an available resource that has been designed to help enhance the mental health of children aged zero to 12 years.

About the Raising Healthy Minds app

The free Raising Healthy Minds app, developed by Raising Children Network and funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, was co-designed by parents and mental health experts. It provides evidence-based and age-appropriate information on emotions, behaviour, wellbeing and parental self-care, along with practical tips and activities.

How health professionals can use the app

  • The app can be shared with parents in your care for them to use as a resource to improve their knowledge, confidence and capacity when managing their child's mental health.

  • Given the increasing need of parents to access services to support their children’s mental health, the app offers answers to parent questions and flags when further intervention may be needed.

  • The app offers a mix of quick-read articles, videos and animations designed to support the social and emotional wellbeing of young children. Users can search through the app's content by keyword or topic.

Access the app for free

The Raising Healthy Minds app can be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store.
