$20, 000 community grant opportunities in Jimboomba, Beaudesert and Flagstone – Applications now open!
Are you part of a local group or service that helps improve mental health outcomes for people living in the Jimboomba, Beaudesert or surrounding areas?
Brisbane South PHN is administering the Jimboomba Community Wellbeing Grants to help local groups and services to fund projects and to design initiatives that are accessible, culturally relevant and effective in improving mental health and wellbeing outcomes for people in the region.
Grants of up to $20,000 (GST exclusive) are available for eligible community groups or organisations.
Applications open Wednesday 9 April 2025 and close 5pm Friday 16 May 2025.
Purpose of the Jimboomba Community Wellbeing Grants initiative
The community grants are available to help empower local communities to enhance mental health wellbeing and address mental health challenges in ways that are most relevant to their unique needs. After all, it is the people who live and work in the Jimboomba and Beaudesert communities who are the experts when it comes to understanding what their communities need.
The Jimboomba Community Wellbeing Grants provide an opportunity for local groups to design initiatives that are culturally relevant, accessible, and effective in improving mental health outcomes.
Grant funds are intended to help:
increase mental health awareness
support in reducing mental health stigma
promote the mental health and wellbeing of the local community
increase awareness of local services and pathways to accessing support
engage with the community to design effective, culturally safe, community-led mental health services.
Who can apply for a grant?
Local community groups or not-for-profit organisations that support or improve mental health outcomes can apply. Partnership approaches are encouraged. Creative and unconventional approaches are welcomed.
The grants will focus on organisations that are:
located in Brisbane South PHN region and/or intending to deliver the Grant Program Activity to residents based in Jimboomba, Beaudesert and the surrounding suburbs
an incorporated not-for-profit organisation, or are auspiced by an incorporated not-for-profit organisation that accepts legal and financial responsibility for the project or activity (i.e., an auspice agreement)
able to demonstrate that their proposed Grant Program Activity will achieve the grant program objectives.

Examples of eligible projects
Below are some examples of what eligible projects could look like. This is not an exhaustive list, and your project might be different.
A youth organisation running peer-led mental health education sessions in Jimboomba high schools to reduce stigma and improve awareness.
A local arts collective delivering weekly creative workshops in Beaudesert to support mental wellbeing and reduce isolation.
A First Nations group hosting a culturally safe yarning circle with outdoor activities to support men's mental health.
A multicultural organisation providing translated mental health information sessions for newly arrived communities in Flagstone.
A local sports club offering a weekend program combining sport with education on reducing alcohol and substance use.
How to apply for a grant
Complete the grant application form and submit it to tenders@bsphn.org.au by 5pm Friday 16 May 2025.
Once you have applied, you will receive an email confirming receipt of the application.
The submitted application will be kept confidential, and the contents will not be disclosed to any person outside the Application and Assessment Process.
