Quality improvement

Mental health, suicide prevention, alcohol and other drug quality improvement (QI) toolkits are available in the following topics:

 These toolkits are designed to support practices to:

  • make easy, measurable and sustainable improvements

  • provide best-practice care for patients 

  • complete Quality Improvement (QI) activities using the Model for Improvement

  • meet the Practice Incentive Program Quality Improvement Incentive (PIP QI).


Data and Research

AIHW Suicide and Self-harm Monitoring System 

The National Suicide and Self-harm Monitoring System (the System) has been established as part of the national effort to address suicide and self-harm in Australia. The system will improve the quality, accessibility and timeliness of data on deaths by suicide and on self-harming and suicidal behaviours. 

Suicide Prevention Australia 

The national peak body for the suicide prevention sector that provides a clear, collective voice for suicide prevention. 

Black Dog Institute 

A medical research institute in Australia that investigates mental health across the lifespan and offers free resources for those working in the mental health sector. 

Roses in the Ocean 

Australia's national lived experience of suicide organisation  has a number of resources designed to guide service providers to engage, integrate and partner with people with lived experience of suicide.

Assists professionals, organisations and practitioners, working to prevent suicide and self-injurious behaviour in their clients, community and workforce
